7. Here is what the basic "Create Post" page looks like.

8. It's a good idea to create your first post so you can see what your Blog looks like before trying out different templates. Start with your Drift Strategy. Use "Drift 1 Strategy" as the title. Click on "Publish Post" when you're done. (Remember that your first post will be on the bottom of the page as subsequent posts will appear at the top.)

9. Click on "View Blog."

10. Here is how your Blog will look with the first post.

11. To edit the post, click on the little pencil icon (this feature is not available on all templates).

12. You can also navigate to Edit Post mode by clicking on the "Customize" button in the upper right . . .

. . . this will bring up the Customize page, where you can click on "Posting" in the upper left . . .

. . . and then "Edit Posts" . . .

. . . and then "Edit" next to the post you wish to edit.

13. Another way of accessing Edit Posts is by clicking on Dashboard in the upper right of a Create Post page . . .

. . . and clicking "Posts" on the Manage bar . . .

14. Edit your Profile by accessing the Profile area on the right side of the Dashboard page. Make sure to add a photo.

15. To post one of your hand-drawn maps, go to PantherFile and select the map file . . .

. . . and highlight the URL that appears in the new window. Copy.

16. Go back to Blogger, create a new post, and click on the "Add Picture" icon . . .

. . . and paste the URL into the "add an image from the web" field. Choose the "Left" layout, "Small" image size, and check the box in front of "Use this layout every time." Click "Upload Image."

17. Click "Done."

18. You can see the thumbnail appear in the new post. If you click on it, a new window with the full-sized image will appear. Go back to the post and write a detailed description of your field recording and how you captured it. Include the date and time when you captured the sound. Include a sentence where you can add a link to your MP3: "Play sound here," or "Listen to the recording," or something similar. Pick a word and highlight it. Click on the Hyperlink button.

19. Paste in the URL from your MP3 as it appears on your PantherFile. Click OK.

20. Publish your post, and view your Blog.

21. Click on the link to play the sound. The gray Quicktime window will appear and your MP3 should play.

22. That should do it. If you need further instruction on Blogger basics, check the Blogger Help page, accessible from the menu in the upper right.
