Tutorial: Combining Two or More Tracks in Audacity 1. Import the first recording you wish to combine.
2. Go into Import Audio and select the second recording you wish to add to the first.
3. The second recording will appear in a new track below the first one. You can leave this second track where it is and have both tracks play on top of each other, or you can manipulate where each track appears in relation to the other.
4. Go to the Control Toolbar on the upper left and select the Time Shift Tool:
5. The second track has now moved over to the right and will begin playing 30 seconds into the progress of the first track. You can use fades to seamlessly blend the two tracks. You can also experiment with placing periods of silence to compose your combined tracks into a more interesting and dynamic whole. Select All to highlight both tracks and Export as a new track.
